Shippensburg University graduate student Treasure George (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday morning by the league office.

George averaged 21.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Raiders, who defeated Mansfield at home on Wednesday but lost at East Stroudsburg on Saturday. She scored 20 or more points in both games, finishing the week with 43 points. Spanning the two games, George was 18-of-20 (90 percent) at the free-throw line.

In the win over Mansfield, George led all players with 22 points and was a career-high 11-of-12 at the freethrow line. She also had five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

On Saturday at ESU, George led all players with 21 points on 6-of-15 (40 percent) shooting and was 7-of-8 at the free-throw line to go along with five rebounds. The games marked her fifth and sixth 20-point games this season.

It is the first weekly award for the Raiders this season and the second weekly honor of George’s career; she was previously recognized two years ago on Nov. 29, 2021.
