In the East, East Stroudsburg\u2019s\u00a0Emily Chmiel\u00a0and Lock Haven\u2019s Madeline Evans were selected. In the West, Gannon\u2019s Kate Ratliff and Seton Hill\u2019s Mia Kalich\u00a0earned the honor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eastern Division Athlete of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Emily Chmiel<\/b><br \/>\n<b>East Stroudsburg<\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Forward<\/strong><br \/>\n<b>Senior<\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Doylestown, Pa. \/\u00a0Central Bucks East (Chestnut Hill)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emily Chmiel\u00a0<span class=\"x_1541121683gmail_default\">l<\/span>ed the Warriors to a perfect 2-0\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-15 13:00:00\">weekend<\/span>\u00a0at the Millersville Conference Challenge with back-to-back 20-point double-doubles. Averaged 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 65.5% from the field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Madeline Evans<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Lock Haven<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Forward<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Sophomore<\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Bloomsburg, Pa. \/ Bloomsburg<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madeline Evans led the Bald Eagles on the offense and defensive end over\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-15 13:00:00\">the weekend<\/span>, helping Lock Haven get off to a 1-1 start after a convincing victory over Concord on\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-15 13:00:00\">Friday<\/span>\u00a0and a nail-biting loss to the No. 7 ranked team in the country Fairmont State on\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-16 13:00:00\">Saturday<\/span>. The sophomore season averaged 17 points and 15 rebounds while blocking three shots and making two steals.\u00a0Evans had a monster game on\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-15 13:00:00\">Friday<\/span>\u00a0and finished with an 18-point, 20-rebound double-doubled\u00a0to go with two assists, two steals and a block. Evans shot 8-of-10 at the charity stripe. Her 20 rebounds are the most in the conference this season.\u00a0Evans followed that performance up with her second straight double-double, this time finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds while blocking another shot.\u00a0For her efforts, Evans was named to the PSAC\/MEC Challenge All-Tournament Team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Western Division Athlete of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Kate Ratliff<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Gannon<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Shooting Guard<\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Sophomore<br \/>\nCanal Winchester, Ohio\u00a0\/\u00a0Canal Winchester<\/strong><br \/>\nRatliff had a huge weekend in the Atlantic Region Challenge as she averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots in Gannon&#8217;s two wins. In an 83-58 victory over Glenville State on Saturday, the 6-foot sophomore had career highs of 29 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 assists. She shot 7-of-11 from the field, including one 3-pointer, and went 14-for-14 from the free-throw line. On\u00a0<span class=\"zm_inLnk\" data-value=\"2024-11-17 13:00:00\">Sunday<\/span>\u00a0in a 78-40 over Davis &amp; Elkins, Ratliff scored 15 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. She shot 12-of-23 from the field and 19-for-20 from the foul line in the two games. Through five games, Ratliff leads Gannon with averages of 17 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. She also leads GU with nine blocked shots and eight steals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Mia Kalich<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Seton Hill<\/b><br \/>\n<strong>Forward<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sophomore<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Olmstead Falls, Ohio \/\u00a0Olmstead Falls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mia Kalich helped the Griffins to a 2-0 start.
